Wild Spirit is Gloria Naturals' interpretation of the original Dior Sauvage Eau de Toilette from 2015, the one with Calabrian bergamot and Sichuan pepper over ambroxan, and it costs AED 120. That sentence carries the answer to the question most people actually have and do not know to ask: which Sauvage? Dior sells four, they smell different, and a dupe that follows the wrong one will disappoint you even if it is well made.
Four Sauvages, and the one that matters
The name Sauvage covers four separate fragrances that share a bottle shape and an opening and then go their own way.

When someone says "that Sauvage smell", they mean the Eau de Toilette: the metallic-fresh pepper, the way it fills a lift. That is the version people want a dupe of, and it is the version Wild Spirit's note list follows.
Wild Spirit against the original, note for note
Wild Spirit lists Calabrian bergamot, pepper, Sichuan pepper, lavender, pink pepper, vetiver, patchouli, ambroxan, cedar and labdanum. The Eau de Toilette's published pyramid is Calabrian bergamot and pepper on top; Sichuan pepper, lavender, pink pepper, vetiver, patchouli, geranium and elemi in the heart; ambroxan, cedar and labdanum in the base.
Read the two lists side by side and the structure is the same. Two things are missing from Wild Spirit's list: geranium and elemi. Geranium gives the original a faint rosy-green lift under the pepper; elemi is a resin that adds a lemony sharpness in the first minutes. Neither is the note you remember Sauvage by, and neither is in the base that carries the fragrance for hours. On paper, Wild Spirit keeps the skeleton (bergamot, pepper, ambroxan, cedar, labdanum) and drops two supporting details.
What that means in practice, judged by composition rather than by any measurement the shop has published:
- The opening will be recognisable. Bergamot plus pepper is the Sauvage handshake, and both are present.
- The dry-down is where the resemblance lives or dies. Ambroxan is the note that makes Sauvage radiate and last; it is in Wild Spirit's base, so the long tail should have the same dry, mineral, slightly salty character.
- Expect a fraction less green in the heart because of the missing geranium. If you loved the original for its pepper and ambroxan you will not miss it; if you loved it for the faint rose, you might.
Nothing in the list points to Wild Spirit being sweeter than the original. There is no vanilla, no tonka, no amber that is not already in Sauvage. That matters, because most cheap Sauvage-style fragrances lean sweet to hide thin materials.
Before you blind-buy
A dupe is only a good buy if you actually like the thing it follows. Sauvage is the best-selling men's fragrance in the world and also one of the most divisive, so be honest with yourself about three things.
- If you find the original harsh, this will not fix that. The pepper-and-ambroxan structure is the point. People who describe Sauvage as "screechy" or "like a hotel lobby" are reacting to ambroxan, and it is in the base here too. Wild Spirit is a different bottle of the same idea, not a softened one.
- If you own the Parfum or Elixir and want that, this is the wrong pick. Wild Spirit follows the Eau de Toilette. For a woodier, sandalwood-led masculine, look at Bleu (AED 120), which follows Bleu de Chanel Parfum, or at Nobel (AED 95), which follows Givenchy Gentleman.
- As a gift, it is the safest choice in this list. Sauvage's whole success is that it is recognised and liked by more people than any other masculine on sale. A man who wears anything fresh or spicy will know what to do with Wild Spirit. The people it fails are the ones who wear only sweet gourmands or heavy oud, and you usually know who they are.
What will disappoint you, said plainly: it will not be identical to the designer bottle. Materials, concentration and the exact balance of the pepper differ, and nobody who knows the original well will be fooled at arm's length for eight hours. What you are buying is the same style, the same shape of a day, for AED 120.
How the style behaves in UAE heat
This is about the structure of the fragrance, which Wild Spirit shares with the original, not a measurement of the bottle.
Bergamot is the first thing to go in heat; it is a light citrus oil that evaporates fast, faster still at 45 degrees. On a summer afternoon the peppery opening is a matter of minutes, and what you and everyone else smell for the rest of the day is the ambroxan-cedar base. That base is exactly why this style does well here: ambroxan is dry rather than sweet, it does not turn syrupy in humidity, and it projects without being heavy.
Air conditioning slows everything down and keeps the fragrance closer to the skin, so an office day reads quieter than a day outdoors. Two sprays are enough for a shared room; the original's reputation for filling spaces comes from people who apply five.
Where to put it: neck and chest under a shirt rather than the wrists, which you wash. Never in the car glovebox; heat is the enemy of the citrus top more than of anything else in the bottle.

Wild Spirit is the loudest of the four by composition. If you have been told at work that your fragrance arrives before you do, Bleu or Ocean Code is the kinder choice.
What people get wrong about Sauvage dupes
Judging on the first five minutes at the counter. Every Sauvage-style fragrance smells alike in its first five minutes, because they all open on bergamot and pepper. The difference is in hour three. Spray it, leave, and smell your wrist after lunch.
Expecting the Elixir. The Elixir is a different fragrance in a smaller bottle, spicier and denser. If a friend's Sauvage smelled of cinnamon and warmth, that was the Elixir, and no Eau de Toilette dupe will get you there.
Buying for the projection. The original's projection comes partly from concentration and partly from five sprays. Any dupe worn at two sprays will seem tame next to a memory of someone else's five.
