How to burn it

Light a charcoal disc and wait until it stops sparking and is evenly grey — or set an electric burner to a low heat.

Place two or three small pieces on the charcoal. More is not better; bakhoor is meant to build slowly.

Let the smoke move through the room. Hold clothing or hair briefly over it if you want the scent to carry with you.

Air the room afterwards. The scent stays in the furnishings long after the smoke has cleared.
